Apple has updated its App Store guidelines to explicitly prohibit "nudify" applications that utilize artificial intelligence to create non-consensual intimate images. This move comes in response to widespread criticism, particularly after instances where AI tools were used to generate sexualized deepfakes, including those involving minors.

The updated policy targets AI applications that can alter images to depict individuals in sexually explicit ways without their consent. While Apple did not remove the social media platform X or its AI chatbot Grok, which were implicated in recent deepfake controversies, the company's stricter stance on app content signals a growing effort to curb the misuse of AI for harmful purposes.
