The 40th annual American Cinematheque Awards Gala, scheduled to honor actor Ryan Gosling, has been postponed and will not take place in 2026. Organizers announced Friday that Gosling is no longer available to accept the award due to unforeseen scheduling conflicts.
The American Cinematheque stated that a new date for the gala will be announced at a later time. This marks a significant disruption for the event, which typically celebrates prominent figures in film.
