ABC Sets 'The Rookie' Season 9 Premiere, Spinoff 'North' Debut on Wednesdays

ABC has announced premiere dates for the upcoming season of its popular crime procedural 'The Rookie' and its new spinoff 'The Rookie: North.' The flagship series, starring Nathan Fillion, will launch its ninth season on January 6th, moving to a new time slot on Wednesdays at 9 PM.

Following 'The Rookie,' ABC will debut 'The Rookie: North,' a new spinoff headlined by Jay Ellis. This strategic programming move aims to create a strong 'Rookie' block on Wednesday nights, leveraging the established audience of the original series to introduce the new show.
