Hurricane Isaias Claims Four Lives, Leaves Thousands Without Power

Hurricane Isaias made landfall on Florida's panhandle late Friday as a Category 2 storm, leaving a trail of destruction and claiming four lives. The fatalities occurred when falling trees struck homes in Florida and Alabama as the storm moved inland.

Nearly a million people are currently without power across the affected regions. Authorities are continuing to assess the full extent of the damage, with concerns remaining about ongoing rain and flooding in the aftermath of the hurricane, which has since weakened to a post-tropical cyclone.
