A former personal assistant to Russell Brand has told a court that the comedian had an "insane sexual appetite" and that his behavior towards women was on "another level." Helen Berger, who worked for Brand in the 2000s, testified that she witnessed him treating women poorly and once had to prevent his mother and girlfriend from walking in on him having sex with someone.
Berger stated that she left her job because she was "sick of him." Her testimony comes as Brand faces rape and sexual assault charges, with his trial now in its third week. Another witness statement from Berger described women frequently coming to Brand's flat for sex, but noted that he "never seemed happy" afterward.
