Tupac Shakur Murder Mastermind Sentenced to 40 Years to Life

Duane "Keffe D" Davis has been sentenced to 40 years to life in prison for his role in the 1996 murder of rapper Tupac Shakur. Davis was convicted of first-degree murder with the use of a deadly weapon in August, marking the first and only conviction in the decades-old case.

During the sentencing, Judge Carli Kierny addressed Davis's claims of having moved on from his past, stating, "You don’t get to take a man from his family… and just walk away from it." The trial and subsequent conviction have highlighted the extensive failures of US police in solving the high-profile murder for nearly three decades.
